More Than Jewelry: When God Uses What You Love to Connect Hearts

When I first started Be You. Accessories, I knew I loved accessories.

I loved the way a beautiful bracelet could complete an outfit, how a meaningful piece of jewelry could make someone feel special, and how something as simple as a necklace or bracelet could become a reflection of who you are.

But I never imagined it would become this.

Somewhere along the way, God began showing me that Be You. Accessories isn't just about jewelry.

It’s about people.

It’s about stories.

It’s about connection.

And, most importantly, it’s about allowing God to use something I love to serve people in some of the most meaningful moments of their lives.

Jewelry That Carries a Memory

Recently, I had the privilege of creating bracelets for a widow, her daughters, and her granddaughter.

Each bracelet included a custom-engraved nameplate with his signature honoring their husband, dad, and grandpa who had passed away.

They wore the bracelets together to a family wedding.

Just think about that for a moment.

A piece of jewelry that could be worn long after the wedding was over. A name that would remain close to them. A tangible reminder of someone they loved and missed, carried with them into a day that was filled with both celebration and the emotions that come with missing someone who should have been there.

That bracelet wasn't just an accessory.

It was a memory.

It was love.

It was a little piece of someone they could carry with them.

And I was simply blessed to be the person who got to create it.

A Bracelet That Connected Two Moms

Then came another experience I never could have planned.

I was able to go to a hospital and create a connection between a birth mom and an adopting mom after their baby was born.

Both women received a bracelet with the baby's first initial.

Two mothers.

One precious baby.

Two very different journeys brought together by love.

The bracelets became a simple symbol of the connection they now shared because of this beautiful child.

I walked away from that experience, reminded again that sometimes the smallest things can hold the biggest meanings.

An initial.

A bracelet.

A shared moment.

A connection that words can't always fully explain.

Celebrating Friendship in the Middle of Hard Things

And then there was a 12-year-old girl who wanted to celebrate her birthday in a very special way.

Instead of having her party somewhere typical, she wanted to have it at her friend's home. Her friend is bedridden because of a brain tumor diagnosis.

So we brought the celebration to her.

We made bracelets.

We laughed.

We celebrated.

And for a little while, the focus wasn't on illness or limitations. It was on friendship, being together, and making a 12-year-old girl's birthday meaningful.

Again, I found myself thinking, How did I get here?

How did my love for accessories turn into opportunities like these?

I Know the Answer

I may not have expected any of this when I started Be You. Accessories, but I know the answer.

God.

He has taken something I genuinely love and opened doors I never knew existed.

And I've learned that sometimes serving others isn't about having all the answers or knowing exactly what to say.

Sometimes it's about simply showing up.

It's about letting God direct your words when you aren't sure what to say.

Letting Him guide your mood when circumstances are emotional or difficult.

Letting Him give you the patience, compassion, creativity, and ability to serve when you don't feel like you have enough of any of those things on your own.

I've experienced that again and again through these moments.

I didn't plan these opportunities.

I didn't know where Be You. Accessories would take me.

But God did.

More Than an Accessory

Today, I see every bracelet a little differently.

Yes, it's beautiful.

Yes, it can be fun, personal, stylish, and uniquely you.

But sometimes it's also a reminder of someone you love.

Sometimes it's a symbol of a child who brought two mothers together.

Sometimes it's a friendship celebrated in the middle of an incredibly difficult season.

Sometimes it's a way of saying, I see you. I remember. I'm celebrating with you. I'm here.

And that is more than I ever expected Be You. Accessories to become.

I started with a love for accessories.

God turned it into an opportunity to connect humans through beautiful, meaningful jewelry.

I don't know what the next story will be and who I will be called to serve.

But I'm excited to see where He leads.

Because I've learned that when you give God something you love, He can use it for purposes far greater than you ever imagined.

And for that, I am incredibly grateful.

Be You. Be meaningful. Be connected.

And above all, let God use what you have.
